Hyde Park is situated in Dutchess County, bordered by the town of Poughkeepsie and roughly midway between Albany and the downtown core of New York City. Hyde Park's town board meetings are held on the first and 3rd Mondays of every month, beginning at 6 pm. Current health guidelines require that all town meetings are held virtually while the town hall is closed. Observers can watch the sessions live on the town's Livestream YouTube channel. Videos of the previous meetings are archived and can be found on the cities website.

Participants can find details for submitting information in preparation for the meeting on the cities website in PDF format. Check for changes in structure, timing, and venues before all meetings. Hyde Park is divided into four wards, with a representative from each ward attending and the council supervisor and secretary.
